POSITION: HVAC Maintenance TechnicianREPORTS TO: Director of
Facilities ManagementSTATUS: Full-time, Non-Exempt RANGE: $63,000 -
$73,000Founded in 1901, Brooklyn Law School is a distinguished,
independent law school located in Downtown Brooklyn, New York. The
Law School is searching for an HVAC Maintenance Technician to join
our team. The Law School's size, vibrant employee and student

opportunity to develop and diversify practical skills and
participate firsthand in operating a successful educational
institution. Reporting to both the Director of Facilities
Management and Assistant Facilities Manager the HVAC Maintenance
Technician will play a vital role in operating and maintaining HVAC
systems at Brooklyn Law School's main building (250 Joralemon
Street) and the student residence (205 Street). In this role, you
will not only operate and maintain HVAC systems but also actively
engage in optimizing maintenance procedures, collaborating with
colleagues, and contributing to the development of preventive
maintenance plans.This is a fully on-site position.Responsibilities
include:Conduct maintenance, upkeep, and repair of all HVAC
equipment, including PTAC unit.Operate, repair, and maintain
boilers, chillers, and MEP equipment.Perform daily inspections,
changing filters, coil cleaning, greasing motors, and replacing
light bulbs & ballasts.Install, maintain, and repair heating,
ventilation, and cooling units. Diagnose and repair of electronic,
mechanical, and electrical components of these systems as
needed.Document all installed equipment upon arrival: make, model,
serial number, type of fuel, necessary test measurements, and
pictures as necessary.Diagnose diverse service issues, obtain any
replacement parts, calibrate system to manufacturer's
recommendations.Responsible for adjustments to the building energy
management system.Assist with building maintenance functions for
special events, snow removal, garbage removal, recycling, and clean
up after floods or emergencies as needed and requested by
Superintendent and/or Director of Facilities.Ability to work
independently in a timely manner, ensuring deadlines are
consistently met Able to work in a fast-paced environment and
respond quickly to calls and requests from Superintendent and/or
Director and Assistant Facilities Manager Responsible for
preventive maintenance of all building equipmentKeep mechanical
rooms clean and free from debris and trashRequired:High School
Diploma required.Minimum of 5 years of experience in general
maintenance in an institution or commercial facility, of which a
minimum of 3 years is in HVAC.EPA 608 Certification or will obtain
certification upon hiringP99 Certification of Fitness required or
will obtain prior to start dateP98 Certificate of Fitness required
or will obtain prior to start dateA35 Certificate of Fitness
required or will obtain prior to start dateS12 and S13 Certificates
of Fitness highly recommendedAvailability to work nights, weekends,
and holidays, as needed, and to respond to emergency situations on
an "on-call" basis.Ability to perform heavy lifting and physically
demanding tasks with repetition.Ability to receive supervision and
feedback and adjust performance accordingly.Strong organizational,
oral, and written skills essential.Proficient in basic computer
skills and able to use a mobile device throughout the workday.
Preferred:Prior experience with energy management systems in large
buildingsFamiliarity with safety protocols and regulations in the
maintenance fieldStrong problem-solving skills and attention to
detailPrevious experience working in an academic or similar
environment.Work environmentThe work environment includes outdoor
and indoor areas. Indoors may include small and or enclosed spaces
and time will be spent in the engineer's room and mechanical rooms.
Exposure to environmental conditions expected. Remote
capabilitiesThis position is not eligible for a hybrid/remote
schedule, as duties must be performed on-site.Physical demandsMust
