Job Summary: X-Ray Technician - NYU Langone Huntington Medical Group
Perform medically prescribed radiographic procedures, maintain equipment, and ensure patient safety and comfort in a fast-paced medical environment.

Job Responsibilities:

• 
  
• Perform radiographic procedures, including positioning and immobilizing patients, and adjusting equipment settings to ensure high-quality images.
  
• Maintain equipment, supplies, and cleanliness of the radiographic area, and notify supervisors of any shortages or malfunctions.
  
• Assist with special projects, reports, and activities, and maintain cooperative relationships with patients, physicians, nurses, and staff.
  
• Recognize medical emergencies and notify nurses, PAs, and MDs immediately, and demonstrate knowledge of radiation safety procedures.
  
• Prepare equipment and supplies for future exams, and make alterations in work schedules for STAT and emergency cases.
  
• Follow departmental protocols and standards, and implement patient procedures independently, explaining procedures and equipment to patients.
  
• Use standard procedures to identify patients, review requisitions, and understand the type of exam required, and consult with medical staff as needed.
  
• Effectively assess patient information and status, and follow appropriate procedures, and maintain confidentiality on matters to which they are privileged.
  
• Demonstrate knowledge of the hospital and radiology information systems, and correctly choose patient information from HIS/RIS systems in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  
  
  Minimum Qualifications:
  
  • 
    
  • Certificate from an accredited School of Radiologic Technology
    
  • New York State license or temporary permit to practice Diagnostic Radiology
    
  • Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
    
  • High School diploma or equivalent
    
    
    Preferred Qualifications:
